About Trevor Wicken, MS, MES, NKT2, CES

Trevor has been a neuromuscular movement specialist for 16 years, a practicing Medical Exercise Specialist for 13 years, and Neurokinetic Therapist for the past 3 years. He has a Bachelor’s degree in sports medicine, a Master’s degree in exercise science with an emphasis on biomechanical analysis, and six other accredited certifications. Trevor’s education qualifies him to partner with people like you to overcome chronic pain, recover from illnesses, and restore freedom to your life through the power of neurologically based exercise.

You may be asking yourself, “What is a Medical Exercise Specialist?” or “What does Neurokinetic Therapist do?” Those are two great questions.

To put it simply:

A Medical Exercise Specialist is a fitness professional trained by medical professionals (physicians and physical therapists) who specializes in creating solution driven exercise programs to reduce pain, recover from injury, and reduce the limitation of medical conditions.

A Neurokinetic Specialist uses neurological testing with corrective exercise programming to create solutions addressing the causes of pain and dysfunctional movement patterns stored in the brain. An NKT practitioner assesses how nerves feed the muscles and how the muscles move the joints to produce healthy or unhealthy movement patters leading to pain, injury, and loss of function.

Throughout Trevor’s career, he has had the privilege of working with people living with a variety of conditions including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, arthritis, total joint replacements, post-surgical recovery, diabetes management, obesity, low back pain, spinal cord injuries, and heart conditions.

Trevor has used his experience with these individuals combined with his education and advanced training to develop a unique and highly effective exercise training system called The R.I.S.E Movement System.

This type of exercise is different than traditional physical therapy or fitness training as R.I.S.E. uses neurological exercise training to re-educate and re-train your brain how to move right again so you can work, play, exercise, and live your life without limitations.

Trevor doesn’t chase pain and symptoms; instead he partners with you to eliminate the roots of your pain through the power of strategic, structured, and focused exercise programs.

Trevor has invested in his education to ensure he can deliver the best exercise programming to his medical exercise clients.
